Work on sanitation commences

    The World Water Council officially launched the project “Increasing Financial Flows for Sanitation”, inscribed in the “Cities: At the heart of growth” Task Force’s work plan. 
     
    The project aims at identifying the most appropriate financial mechanisms that could better support the development of the sanitation sector of three pre-selected cities, with the purpose of raising awareness about innovative financing instruments to increase sanitation provisions and to involve more actors in the national sanitation financing plans.  
     

    Council participates in the MPGCA Workshop in London

    The World Water Council participated at the at the Strategy and Planning Workshop for the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action (MPGCA) held in London on 11-12 of April.
     
    The Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action was launched at CoP22 by High Level Climate Champions Minister Hakima El Haite and Ambassador Laurence Tubiana as a means to mobilize stronger climate action by all Parties and non-Party Stakeholders towards the achievement of the goals of the Paris Agreement in coherence with the Sustainable Development Goals. 

    Inaugural Meeting of the OECD-WWC-Netherlands Roundtable on Financing Water

    On April 12–13, the World Water Council together with the OECD and the Netherlands organized the inaugural meeting of the Roundtable on Financing Water in Paris. 
    The Roundtable was established to facilitate a fresh approach and augmented dialogue between the water and finance communities on how to overcome the global challenges of financing the investments needed for water security and sustainable economic growth including water’s contribution to the wider set of Sustainable Development Goals.

    Catalyzing collective action on water in the Sustainable Development Goals and the HLPF
