    Water & Green Growth towards Rio+20

    A delegation from the WWC attended the UN Water conference "Water in the Green Economy in Practice: Towards Rio+20" held in Zaragoza Spain from the 3rd to the 5th of October.  Governor Karin Krchnak spoke in the opening session about the work of the WWC on water and green growth in the run-up to the 6th World Water Forum.  Ambassador Park from the WWC Bureau was also interviewed for the conference, while Bert Diphoorn (soon to take over the position of Vice Chair at UN-Water), Charles-Louis de M

    WCC @ World Water Week

    What options for water are « green »? Examining the link between water and green growth was the objective of the seminar convened today in Stockholm by WWC, IUCN, K-Water, TNC and WBCSD during the World Water Week. The Council took the opportunity of this event to present its work over the past year to the wider water community in view of the preparation of the 6th World Water Forum. This will include identifying solutions for the Forum in the form of successful case studies.

    Workshops of the Americas’ Targets and Solutions Groups on the road to the 6th World Water Forum

    Organised by the CONAGUA in cooperation with several partners such as WWF, IUCN, AWRA, UN-Habitat, TNC or GWP among others, the Workshops will be held on September 7-8 in Mexico City. The themes are water and climate change; water and sanitation; governance for IWRM; water for ecosystem services; harmonizing water and energy; and water for food security.

    Budapest Water Summit: Giving future a sustainable chance

    From 8 to 11 October 2013 the World Water Council is co-organizing with the Hungarian government the 2013 Budapest Water Summit under the theme "The role of water and sanitation in the world's agenda for sustainable development." The aim of this Summit is to formulate concrete recommendations to implement the post-2015 Development Program and guide the Sustainable Development Goals towards the field of water.
