Water & Green Growth towards Rio+20
A delegation from the WWC attended the UN Water conference "Water in the Green Economy in Practice: Towards Rio+20" held in Zaragoza Spain from the 3rd to the 5th of October. Governor Karin Krchnak spoke in the opening session about the work of the WWC on water and green growth in the run-up to the 6th World Water Forum. Ambassador Park from the WWC Bureau was also interviewed for the conference, while Bert Diphoorn (soon to take over the position of Vice Chair at UN-Water), Charles-Louis de Maud'huy, Miguel Lopez Estebaranz and Callum Clench all participated in the various sessions. The Council hopes to continue working with UN-Water to take key messages on water and Green Growth and Green Economy forward to Rio+20, using the 6th World Water Forum as a platform to further highlight the importance of this work.
