The Kick-off Meeting of the 7th World Water Forum will be held in in Daegu on May 14th and 15th of 2013 as the first official event in preparation for the 7th World Water Forum. At the Kick-off Meeting, water-related government officials, intergovernmental organizations, NGOs, public and private enterprises, networks and scholars will gather and help determine the agendas that will be discussed for the next 2 years and the way forward. Many participants are expected with devoted interest in people suffering from water challenges, practical expertise and a strong will to solve water problems.
The main purpose of this meeting would be finalizing the IDI road map and determining its future activities and action plan. The meeting aims at providing and exchanging information on lessons learnt and improving responsiveness towards droughts. The meeting will bring together experts and highly skilled professionals to debate openly drought issues and discuss the IDI Road Map.
The year 2013 will mark the 6th anniversary of Korea's largest conference
focused on green industries, Global Green Hub Korea. The conference will
include the Green Partnership Plaza; the Global Green Forum; a series of
seminars introducing opportunities for global green projects; and the Global
Green Tech Exhibition. In particular, Global Green Hub Korea 2013 will be
held in Songdo, Incheon to welcome and celebrate the Green Climate Fund
(GCF) Secretariat, scheduled to open in 2013.
The World Water Council together with WWC member IWRA is one of the main supporting organizations of this conference on Water Storage and Hydropower Development for Africa which will take place under the patronage of H.E. Alemaheyu Tegenu, Minister of Water & Energy. Co-organizers include Hydropower & Dams, International Commission on Large Dams and the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation.
This Initiative aims to set-up a multi-stakeholder network to advance on the global water governance agenda. It will encompass the establishment of a Policy Forum, the creation of an International Observatory on water governance, and a Web Portal to share good governance practices across a wide range of public, private and not-for-profit actors at different levels, within and outside the water community.
