#ClimateIsWater looks to COP22

The #ClimateIsWater initiative clearly brought water to the climate community at COP21 in Paris. Water was discussed at greater depth and in greater detail than at any previous UN climate conference. Now, #ClimateIsWater, coordinated by the WWC, is inspiring the groundwork for COP22.

Gaining momentum from successful collaboration in the lead-up to COP21, cooperation between France, host of COP21, and Morocco, which will host COP22 is bourgeoning. As part of the push to place water at the heart of COP22, France, Morocco and the WWC are co-hosting the International Conference on Water and Climate. To be held in Rabat, Morocco, 11–12 July, we’re sure the conference will raise political awareness of the importance of water in tackling and adapting to climate change.

A ministerial roundtable will be organized to give African states an opportunity to share their perspectives on water and climate issues specific to the continent.
