About the organization
Korea Water Resources Association (KWFA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1967 to renovate the underdeveloped hydrological techniques in Korea by actively participating in the related policymaking, and to improve national welfare by accelerating the modernization of hydraulic engineering. KWRA is cooperated to promote the scientific process of water resources and to lead Government’s policy-making for the progress of water resources technology to contribute to national welfare. Our mission is to contribute to academic development regarding the earth water and to public welfare.
The major activities of KWRA are follows:
- Research and investigation on water resources and hydrological technology;
- Collection and communication of the data, information and knowledge on water resources and hydrological technology;
- Education and enlightenment on water resources;
- Development of hydrological technology;
- Participation in international organizations related to water issues;
- Technological exchange and cooperation with external and abroad organization

About the Governor representative
Hong Kee JEE
Prof. JEE, Hong Kee (Prof.), the chair man of Korea Water Resources Association (KWRA) , has researched on civil engineering, especially the water resources area. Prof. Jee has been researching and managing various projects as a member of KWRA since 1977, and he is now taking a important role for Korea water resources as a chairman. Prof. Jee has been a professor of Yeungnam University from 1981 . Prof. Jee has been a vice-chairman of Korea Wetland Association for 4 years from 2004 to March 2008. At present, Prof. Jee is a member of an advisory committee for the President of Korea, Green Growth Committee.
